My hair has changed as I have got older. It has become drier. So, the texture is slightly different. I have fine hair – usually, a lot of it. Although, in recent years, due to menopause and an underactive thyroid, it has thinned quite a lot, especially at the front hairline. Therefore, I am cautious about which hair products I use, preferring gentle, effective ingredients to nourish my hair as much as possible.
I have read amazing reviews about Vegamour and their natural, vegan products. So, I was thrilled when they asked if I would like to sample them. While checking out their website, I noticed they have five-star reviews from over a thousand paying customers, which is impressive.
I chose the HYDR-8 Full Routine Kit
because I wanted to work through the process of washing and conditioning while adding a few of their treatments. I have been using the products, continuously, for approximately six weeks. The HYDR-8 routine is designed to offer a “4-step hydrating process designed to cleanse, condition, detangle and add softness and shine to dry, damaged hair”. Which sounds perfect for my hair. The kit includes:
HYDR-8 Full Routine Kit
-
Repair Shampoo/Conditioner
-
A leave-In Conditioner
-
Deep Moisture Repair Mask
-
And Weightless Repair Oil
A product, which I use to help with the sleekness and shine of my hair is, keratin, which isn’t so good for the hair when overused. Looking through the impressive list of ingredients, I noticed they have created an alternative for keratin – “Karmatin”, which is much kinder but still effective on hair. So, does this system make any difference?
GRO Revitalizing Shampoo and Conditioner Kit
I like to switch up my shampoo and conditioners every so often. But, I may be sticking with this pair. I’m forever on the lookout for effective products which won’t strip out the natural oils in my hair, leaving it nourished instead of parched. I wash my hair once to twice a week – I found Vegamour to be good for taming my natural wave and frizz without making it appear too flat. As you can see, these products have given my hair a healthy shine and kept it manageable.
HYDR-8 Deep Moisture Repair Mask
I use a hair mask once a week to restore moisture. It helps to keep my hair smooth and hydrated. On application, I loved the natural fragrance of this mask. I leave it on for ten to fifteen minutes rather than the recommended time, which is three to five. I find I get more of a result. I then shampoo and condition. I have my hair highlighted with bleach once or twice a year which can cause dryness, and this hair mask helped in restoring the drying-out effect of the bleaching.
HYDR-8 Weightless Repair Oil
The aim of this hair product is to:
-
add natural, glossy shine;
-
fight frizz and flyaways; and
-
strengthen hair and seals split ends.
I have natural, wavy hair. So, I have been careful where I apply the oil… a little goes a long way! It worked very well on the ends of my hair, and I mainly used it when I straightened my hair with my straightening iron. This worked as an intense heat protector, preventing my hair from getting, “frazzled”, and also giving a healthy shine.
HYDR-8 Leave-In Conditioner
I have never used a leave-in hair conditioner so, initially, I thought my hair might be weighted down with this product. This doesn’t happen, instead, it leaves a lovely shine and has heat protection, too, which is a bonus. And, it has such a lovely fragrance.
Opinion
The appearance of the products is classy and luxurious. The deep pink and gold containers are aesthetically pleasing. After using the products, I experienced salon-finished locks. I was so impressed with the gentle, effective ingredients, something to consider if you suffer from allergies. My stand-out hair product is the deep moisture repair mask. I felt a real difference in the texture of my hair after use – which is an achievement for my “horse hair”. Plus, the beautiful fragrance of the products left a lingering scent which I loved.
Please Note: I was gifted the HYDR-8 Full Routine kit in return for an honest review. There was no copy approval – all opinions are my own.

I have thinning hair and have received the other set from Vegamour. I haven’t used it yet as I’m traveling to your side of the pond this week and will be gone for almost three weeks! I’ll wave in your direction! How long did you use it before writing your review? I do wish my hair was like yours…it’s glorious!

Wow, Marsha that sounds like a big adventure. I hope the weather is good for you in Europe. If you are in my neck of the woods
give me a shout. I used the products for over five weeks. I would tend to use the repair oil
after a few days washing my hair for that sleeked back poneytail look, otherwise it would make my hair appear too flat. I
wish I had tried the hair growth serum for my thinning hair at the front, which has great reviews from customers. Enjoy!
I’ve heard more good things about this brand. Thanks for the review, it’s worth to give it a try!
