Styling My Brown, Camel Coloured Handbag By Teddy Blake.

Handbags!! I’ve always used a quality, stylish, roomy number which safely holds “my stuff’……Through the years, the contents have changed, but space is still a requirement. When my children were young – I was usually balancing a baby on one arm and my leather bag on the other – among the contents, then, were emergency nappies and spare clothing in case of little accidents. Then, throughout my working years, there was my work paraphernalia, traditionally followed by a last-minute dash to the shop before the school pick-up. So, again, there was the need for a roomy, workable handbag. To the present day, my sizeable tote was such a benefit when in transit to Hong Kong to visit my son. I guess I’ve never moved on from the habit of having space, handbag-wise.

I love the look of a high-quality, beautiful handbag. It can both make and finish an outfit off, spectacularly. I have admired, from afar, the dainty handbags put together with chic, elegant outfits.

I don’t own a lot of handbags, the few I have were all carefully chosen purchases through the years and work well in my wardrobe in both practicality and style. I can call on them to enhance an outfit. Two of the handbags are very old and still look amazing as they are beautiful quality and built to last. Handbags can be costly but are a forever item. So, choosing carefully is key.

Teddy Blake.com contacted me to see if I would like to show and style one of their handbags on my blog in return for an honest review. They offer lots of stunning styles. The bags are all made from quality leather and it took me quite a while to choose. As always, I settled on a slightly larger handbag.  

I had already been searching for a tonal brown bag which would work well with my mostly neutral-based wardrobe. When checking on the Teddy Blake website, I kept returning to the Gigi Palmellato 13″ style in the colour, camel brown. This bag is a different style to anything I currently have.  It is a modern classic handbag so I was excited to start styling it.

When my bag arrived, I immediately noticed the high quality of the Italian leather and suede interior as well as the amazing smell of luxury leather. It has a detachable strap so it can be worn in a cross-body way, too, which I love. Teddy Blake is a direct-to-consumer website, cutting out the “middle man”, allowing for more competitive prices.

Though still practical, this is an elegant style and there’s enough room for my “stuff” – because I still need a roomy bag. I can also vouch for the sturdiness and impressive quality. This is not the kind of bag which will deteriorate. I always check the reviews. And, for Teddy Blake, they are outstanding for their quality and customer service. This certainly makes me able to wear and repurchase with confidence.

I will be styling this handbag in many ways in the years to come.  Today, I am wearing it with this brown jacket and trousers which are not a suit along with a coat.  I bought the jacket over eight years ago in the sale from Zara – it’s been worn quite a lot, over the years. It’s a lovely quality jacket and it has stood the test of time, and not budged from my wardrobe into the recycling container. While on my quest to find the perfect trousers to match, colour-wise, I found these lovely wide Leg Trousers from Marks and Spencer.

They were constantly out of stock, so some patience was required to purchase. It was worth the wait as the colour match is very near, maybe a smidge lighter, if closely inspected.  The beige woollen, unlined coat from Mint Velvet was, again, bought probably around eight years ago and is still in amazing condition.
