It’s A Heatwave! Six Ways I’m Wearing Linen Trousers
We have been experiencing a mini heatwave, here, in the UK. If there’s one wardrobe item I have enjoyed wearing on rotation, it’s my breezy linen trousers. I’ve gone a little OTT with this style and purchased three pairs. All the ones here are from H&M – two mixed linen blends (one beige, one white), and one pure linen (beige). They have been well worth the money at £17.99, for the linen blend, and £24.99 for the pure linen. The only difference I have experienced between the linen and pure linen is the latter is slightly more see-through than the linen blend ones. So, my flesh-coloured Brigette Jones pantscame to the rescue.
I find this simple, wide-leg drawstring style surprisingly easy to wear and such great quality for the price. I wore them on our last holiday to Turkey, where they were a blessing in the sweltering heat. So handy, pulling the cool material over my bathing costume – then, off for a bite to eat…or, a cocktail or two. Great to wear in the evening, too. I paired them with a fitted halter neck tee or a loose shirt to dress up in the evening. Another great tip, regarding washing linen, is to either handwash or pop it into a pillow case and wash it in the washing machine on the lowest setting. Then, hang it up and wear it without ironing it. I’ve tried this a few times and they are as good as new.
This is a brief digression, but, it may be helpful to you. It’s something I have been testing, lately. It’s a simple, effective way of working out what works in my wardrobe. Firstly, I’ll explain I had a de-clutter around May time. Once I’d sorted through and re-jigged my now orderly wardrobe, I placed all of my clothes facing left in my wardrobe. Then, any clothes I wore were then placed back in my wardrobe, facing right. There is a definite pattern emerging…clearly showing which items are gathering dust. Hence, when it’s time for a de-clutter, in October or November, I should be able to see the items which are not working. Then, I can decide what stays, what goes on “Vinted”, or to the charity shop. Of course, there will always be my old favourites, e.g. my incredibly old favourite tuxedo and ancient dresses, which I couldn’t bear to be parted from. And, yes, I’m working on my hoarding disorder, too!
Another top tip is “storage bags”! I came across these huge, see-through bags, by accident. I find them to be amazing, not only for holding clothing but also for storing bulky items such as blankets – and they’re handy if moving house, too. Wish I had found these, long ago. The bags are great for keeping everything neatly stored and clean, as everything is zipped up. They are strong and light as a feather. I highly recommend them.
So, back to my post. As well as their cooling effect, these trousers are suitable for many occasions. Great for lounging around or lovely summer outings. They fit the style factor, perfectly, while also being okay for the office. Such a summer classic! I have gone for the drawstring style, so easy to slip on with a simple tee, blouse, or jacket – anything goes with this wardrobe staple. The style, here, is also available in an array of colours. I have stayed with the neutral theme. The size I am wearing is medium.
So, let’s find out what I have been wearing with my linen trousers. Let’s go!

I love all of these outfits but especially the one with the lacy short sleeve cardigan. There is nothing like linen pants when it’s hot! I have several pairs in different colors. I’ve collected them over the years and find myself reaching for them over and over!
What a relaxed summer looks! I know that linen wears fantastic on hot days, but I only have one linen skirt myself. But it’s really a summer must have isn’t it. Although i hate that word actually……. anyway, enjoy your Sunday!
I used to stay away from linen because it wrinkles so easily, but lately, I’ve been embracing it and have been wearing my linen pants non-stop. I love all of these breezy summer looks! Thanks for the inspo!
Linen lasts so well and come out of storage year after year. Loved the cream paired with the denim jacket, perfect combination! Fabulous looks and another great blog post. Celine x
