Feel Fiber Jelly Review: Why Fibre Matters…… and My Honest Experience

I’ve been trying Feel’s new Fiber Jelly supplement in passion fruit flavour, and it’s given me the opportunity to look a little more closely at something we don’t always pay enough attention to in our daily diet: fibre.

Here’s what I’ve learned about why fibre matters, what Feel Fiber Jelly offers and my thoughts on this convenient way of increasing our daily intake.

Feel is a wellness brand offering science-led supplements designed to support everyday wellbeing.

Why Is Fibre So Important?

We hear a lot about the importance of protein, healthy fats, carbohydrates, fruit and vegetables. We’re also becoming more aware of the need to limit excess sugar and highly processed foods. But fibre deserves just as much attention when we think about eating well.

For years, many of us probably associated fibre with bran cereals and wholemeal bread. Today, there are plenty of other ways to increase our intake.

The UK recommendation for adults is around 30g of fibre a day, yet many of us don’t manage to reach that target.

Fibre plays an important role in digestive health and helps maintain regular bowel movements. Certain types of fibre also act as food for beneficial gut bacteria, supporting a healthy gut microbiome. Depending on the type, fibre can help lower cholesterol and moderate the rise in blood sugar after eating.

Another benefit I find particularly interesting is its role in helping us feel fuller for longer, which can be useful when managing our appetite.

Fibre and Weight Management

One of my personal motivations for paying attention to nutrition is maintaining my weight.

I lost two stone a few years ago, and I’ve worked hard to keep it off. Like many people, I know how easy it is for a few extra pounds to creep back on when routines slip.

I’m 5ft 6in tall, and maintaining a healthy weight is important to me. I’ve found that paying attention to what I eat, keeping active and building sensible habits all play a part.

Fibre-rich foods, such as oats, beans, lentils, vegetables and wholegrains, can help us feel satisfied after eating. This can make managing hunger a little easier.

I also have a sweet tooth, so anything that helps me feel satisfied between meals is worth understanding. Of course, fibre isn’t a magic solution for weight loss, but it can be a useful part of a balanced diet.

What Is Feel Fiber Jelly?

Feel Fiber Jelly is a passion fruit-flavoured fibre supplement designed to make increasing your daily intake more convenient.

Each single-serve sachet provides 9.5g of fibre, which is approximately one-third of the recommended daily intake of 30g for adults.

The formula combines four types of prebiotic fibre:

  • Inulin

  • Fructooligosaccharides (FOS)

  • Resistant dextrin

  • Psyllium husk

These are combined with a blend of plant-based ingredients, including broccoli sprout, spirulina, spinach and green cabbage.

The product also contains copper, an essential mineral that contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal immune system function and the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

It’s an interesting combination for anyone looking for a convenient way to add more fibre to their daily routine.

The Benefits of Getting Enough Fibre

To put it simply, getting enough fibre can support several aspects of our health:

  • Digestive health: Helps maintain regular bowel movements and normal digestive function.

  • Gut health: Certain types of fibre feed beneficial gut bacteria.

  • Heart health: Some types of soluble fibre can help lower LDL cholesterol.

  • Blood sugar: Fibre can help moderate the rise in blood glucose after a meal.

  • Appetite management: Fibre-rich foods can help us feel fuller for longer.

Of course, fibre comes in different forms, and we benefit from eating a variety of fibre-rich foods. Oats, wholegrains, beans, lentils, fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds are all useful sources.

A supplement can help top up our intake, but it shouldn’t replace a varied, balanced diet.

My Experience of Feel Fiber Jelly

One of the things I appreciate about convenient supplements is how easily they can fit into an existing routine. If something is complicated or time-consuming, I’m less likely to stick with it.

Feel Fiber Jelly comes in individual sachets, so there’s no need to prepare or mix anything beforehand. The passion fruit flavour also offers an alternative to the powders that need to be mixed with water.

For me, convenience is certainly worth considering when choosing a supplement. However, as with any fibre supplement, it’s important to follow the recommended serving instructions and drink enough water throughout the day.

If you’re not used to eating much fibre, it’s also sensible to increase your intake gradually, as a sudden increase can cause bloating or digestive discomfort.

As always, it’s worth considering your own dietary needs before introducing a new supplement.

My Final Thoughts

Fibre might not be the most glamorous part of nutrition, but it plays an important role in our everyday health. As we get older, I think it’s worth paying attention to the small, consistent habits that help us look after ourselves.

For me, that means eating a balanced diet, staying active with my regular outdoor walks and light strength work, and being mindful of what my body needs.

Feel Fiber Jelly offers a convenient way to increase your fibre intake, providing 9.5g per sachet. Whether it’s right for you will depend on your existing diet, preferences and individual needs.

I’ll always be an advocate for getting as much goodness as possible from a varied diet, but I can also see the appeal of a supplement that makes topping up our intake a little simpler.
