In today’s post, I’m showing you several combinations of how I have styled my on-trend leather, Shearlings jacket. When Angel Jackets asked me to review one of their own, this style was an easy choice because I had been looking for one for a good while. Shearling jackets are a massive trend, once more. And, living in the North East of England, we are no strangers to an icy blast from the Arctic. Since receiving this comforting and hard-wearing jacket, it has ticked all the boxes, giving me some much-needed warmth. It will certainly add some cosiness to my festive season.
As well as being a great relaxed style, it also elevates outfits in an understated, pared-down way. This jacket fits my own casual style – it’s more than the average leather layer. I have enjoyed styling this stand-out piece. Before we come to the outfits, here’s a little about Angel Jackets.

My Overall Opinion
The look and description of this jacket are what I was looking for. When choosing, I was encouraged by the glowing reviews and liked the fact it was brown, though on arrival the colour was dark brown, but I’m okay with that. When delivered, the jacket was wrapped carefully in tissue paper and a protective duster bag, which is something I would expect when purchasing a luxury item. When it comes to the sizing of anything I purchase online, I’m always careful, especially when ordering a leather jacket, wanting to make sure the measurements are correct so it’s going to fit, perfectly. No one likes the “toing and froing” of having to return items. I also had to consider the Shearling lining, so the size information was a great help. On their website, impressively, there were two size tabs, one for my body measurements and the other tab had the actual product size information. And, you could pick inches or centimetres. I was now able to see how roomy the finished article would be. I went for the size, medium – I’m a UK size 12.
My jacket fits, perfectly, and when zipped up, is a fitted style. However, there’s still room for a jumper, underneath – perfect!
Real leather jackets are usually an expensive outlay and this Shearling jacket, at £179.00, is a very good price point. There is no sacrifice in quality. The leather is lightweight with metal fasteners. And, the creaminess of the Shearling is very soft and cosy. I am delighted with the quality of my jacket and, as you can see from the photographs, it’s a great style. It will be worn for months and years to come. The leather jacket collection I already own has improved with age and I know this will be the case here, too. There’s always a little bit of “give” with leather, which makes the jacket personal to your body.
How I’m styling my Shearling jacket
Styling this jacket wasn’t difficult and it will be no interloper in my wardrobe, fitting right in with my existing casual attire. I have felt good wearing it and received several compliments and enquiries about where I purchased it.
With my Check Mini Skirt and Jumper
I’m still throwing the rule book out regarding women of a certain age wearing mini-skirts – total nonsense. This check skirt is part of a suit which I bought some years ago. I like the trend of wearing my mini with opaque tights – though I’d probably swap for sheer tights for a more dressed-up look. The cropped brown polo neck is from Zara (last year). This is the perfect outfit for a cold day, mixing up textures and outerwear.
Just Jeans and Tee
Is there such a thing as the easiness of a great pair of jeans and a crisp white tee? I’m a huge fan of wearing jeans and I have amassed quite a collection in various styles. However, there have been times when I didn’t feel good wearing them – think tummy and bum! Recently, I am revisiting jeans. They are my “go-to”, most days. The styles I’m going for have a certain slouchiness which I like. This wide leg style goes, perfectly, with my jacket for that relaxed, laid-back way of dressing.
With Accessories!
I can’t tell you how old this Burberry scarf is. I paid around £50.00 for it way back and thought it was expensive, then. I was shocked when I checked the price, today. Winter is all about the mixture of rich, warm textures to layer – making an outfit more interesting. I’m not a lover of scratchy wool, but the softness of a quality woollen scarf, hat or gloves is pure luxury for me. As well as my scarf, I’m also wearing my grey “Barbour” bobble hat along with Pat’s (borrowed) hat from “Next (Mens)”, which is currently in stock, if you like it.
With a Slip Skirt
I’m a fan of this style. This black slip skirt can be worn with many different outfit combinations, including oversized woollens, which is one of my favourites. I like the fact it’s a midi/maxi length, which gives me the feeling of a cool “goth” style. And, it certainly brings an air of coolness to my shearling jacket.
With Sequins!
I’m a fairly newcomer to sequins and got a little carried away with my newfound trend, a few years ago. However, since learning how bad they are for the environment, my collection came to an abrupt stop. So, the carefully chosen pieces I have collected will be it – unless bought from pre-loved sites. I bought this midi/maxi from “Marks and Spencer”, last year. I wore it the other evening with my shearlings jacket, adding trainers for a more relaxed but still “glam” look.
