Autumn Looks – with a Touch of Leather

If you are a regular to my blog, you may have discovered this post, “Leather Trousers, Why Not”, and read about my search for the perfect pair.  If you are thinking of investing in some leather, pleather, faux or vegan, here’s a quick post on how I have been styling mine as the weather is cooling and we go into autumn.  Leather trousers aren’t cheap.  So, at the beginning of this year, I looked for a pair that would be right for me and that I would enjoy wearing – a pair I would get my money’s worth from, that would fit comfortably and give me that “feel-good factor”. So, without thinking too deeply about the style, I settled on a pair similar to my favourite jeans. I’d tried on several, then, thankfully, found this pair, which work for me.

They are a relaxed, slouchy style – wide on the leg and sit just above the ankle in a flattering way.   I know they are going to be my “go-to” as they are so comfortable and will work for a plethora of occasions.

With a Denim Shirt

What a timeless classic the “denim shirt” is.   I used to have an old Levi’s denim shirt and wore it until it fell to pieces. This one is from Boden that I managed to snaffle in a sale, a few years ago. I’ve worn it on many many occasions. It’s lightweight with a touch of lycra in the denim, which makes it so comfortable to wear, giving it movement.

This is one of the most versatile items in my wardrobe – there are umpteen ways to wear this shirt. Whether it’s double denim with a white “broderie anglaise” skirt (in the summer months) or with these leather pants, this shirt could have a post all on its own.

Classic White Shirt

You may be familiar with this post, “Three Ways I have Styled my Oversized White Shirt”. So, here’s another example of why this is such a great staple in your wardrobe. It’s the perfect accompaniment to these leather pants. I must admit to wearing this uniform a lot over the last couple of weeks – alongside sandals or boots – perfect for transitional dressing.

Autumn Jumper

Here is another favourite from the back of my wardrobe. I can’t remember how old this jumper is! I bought it from Zara, many moons ago (five to eight years ago at least) and it has lasted so well – not a bobble or snag in sight! This jumper is perfect for those” hot, one-minute, freezing cold, the next” moments, especially at this time of year! The wool is lightweight so, if we do go to the pub or for a bite to eat, I don’t find myself sweltering – nothing worse!! I love the kick flair hem, too – it’s very flattering around the tummy area.

Leather and denim is a great timeless combination! I don’t think Leather suits my style personality sadly, but I admire seeing it done well! Thanks for linking x

    • It took me a good while to find these. I tried a lot of styles on which weren’t my style. These are soft as butter and so comfortable. x

    • I tried such a lot of styles before I settled on these. Leather trousers can also cost quite a bit so I really wanted to get it right. I do love these and most importantly I enjoy wearing them. xx
