Now that lockdown rules are beginning to be relaxed, there are, once again, opportunities to go out and about. Events such as garden parties, weddings, birthdays or even just a visit to the local pub, are possible and are being re-planned as we speak. This means we may be looking into our wardrobes, once more, and deciding if we need a small refresh.
So, I was delighted when “Lily Ella” asked if I’d like to share something from their Summer Collection with you. I had been looking for the perfect summer midi dress which would be a versatile piece.
Everything from their collection is curated with women like you and me in mind. It’s “on-trend” and, if you check their website, you will see they are passionate about creating stylish timeless clothing – with pretty patterns, forward-thinking prints, and contemporary colour schemes. I was spoilt for choice.
Lily Ella is a mail order and online fashion retailer, founded in 2013 by Zoe Glover. The company is based in Newcastle Upon Tyne (local to me), but their audience and customers span across the country. They offer everything from light and practical daywear to classic, contemporary, fun, and elegant pieces for the mature woman. They pride themselves on using the highest quality fabrics, offering exclusive prints and designs that are updated every season.
They have recently launched their Summer Collection which is bursting with bright colours, exclusive patterns, and contemporary styles that are sure to fit and flatter, brightening anyone’s day. Their sizes range from 10 to 26 and they say they have a stunning piece for everyone.
Their aim is for each customer to look and, more importantly, feel fabulous. The collections are designed by their founder, Zoe, and are then meticulously developed to fit and flatter women of all shapes and sizes. Fabulously flattering clothes that will help you stand out from the crowd.
At Lily Ella, they strive to minimise the environmental impact on the planet, producing small quantities of each of their twice-yearly collections in a bid to act against fast fashion and the appalling waste this produces.
“My ethos in designing each collection has always been to create stylish, timeless pieces with femininity and comfort at their heart,” says Zoe.
When choosing from their latest collection, I had a telephone conversation with one of the “Lily Ella” team (Julie), who was so helpful. Julie advised me on which dress size to order (12) and thought my item choice was perfect. Julie explained they have everything from their latest collection in their office. So, when customers ring for advice, they can give guidance on colours, sizes, and style. This is a great bonus for those who are unsure about styling an outfit. They have a ‘nothing is too much trouble’ policy which will be such a bonus and so helpful to their customers.
If ever there’s a fail-safe wardrobe winner, the summer dress is it. I’ve been looking for a dress that is cool and breezy, one that will be versatile to dress up or down.
Therefore, as soon as I saw the Malvina dress, I fell in love with it. Ice blue is one of my favourite colours and I know this dress is one I will reach for, be it a casual or a smart day look. Lily Ella have paid great attention to detail from the binding on the neck, sleeves and hem to the beautiful embroidery – and such a flattering style… And, oh so feminine – a relaxed fit with the bonus of having pockets. I know this dress will be a jewel in my wardrobe.
In the photographs, you will see the various ways I have styled this beautiful dress.
